I have Windows XP Pro and a GeForce4 Ti4200 64MB DDRAM. When in properties of my GFX card I see the refresh reates I can set it to. At the moment its at the lowest (60hz. Highest is 85hz). Putting it higher to maybe 70 or 75hz, would it make it better for my comp. What are the pro's and con's of putting up or low the refresh rate?

A monitor creates an image by drawing each line on the monitor with beams fired from three electron guns at the back of the CRT monitor. The frequency at which they redraw the image is called the refresh rate, and it's an important measure of how steady the image will appear. For example a refresh rate of 60 Hz means that the screen is redrawn 60 times per second. Maximum refresh rates may refer to the lowest resolution, so it is therefore also helpful to look at a 75hz or higher refresh rate at the required resolution. In general refresh rates of 70 Hz and higher are preferable, but differences in refresh rates about 85Hz are usually undetectable.
