Hi,
Iīve made a backup of my Saving Private Ryan R1 using smartripper, then I stripped all extra/menu/subs etc to reduce the size of the VOBīs using Ifoedit. When complete the new size where about 6,5gb, so I had to transcode. Used reMpeg to get avg bitrate and length. So I opened dvd-r calc, entered size of extra (all files exept main VOBīs), main movie VOBīs, length and avg bitrate, got a scale factor for about 96%. The maximum scalfactor in reMpeg is 90%, so I choosed that. 9h later I got a ca: 5,2gb *.m2v file!!!
Too big, my VOBīs didnīt fit on a dvd-r!!! Why??? I used a calc and even entered a lower scale factor. Iīve done this before, no problems at all.
I hope someone can explain this to me, Iīm really confused.
The best,
