New to this game.... just got dvd writer and nero.

When i drag and drop the dvd:

1. if it is a standard dvd - have tried Ali-G in da house, the file is about 7000mb even though it is a short film.

2. If it is a dvdr - have tried Lee Evans, it takes forever for the data to be transferred.

is this right or do i need to compress the files or something first.

I know this may seem lame to many but it is doing my head in.

bigsyd is right, you have a long way to go, but don't get discouraged.

First of all, you can't just drag and drop, at least most of the time, because of a large number of reasons. You need to read some guides, best places are www.vcdhelp.com and doom9.org. Check them out and it will help.

The simplest way to do this is with an app called dvdxcopy. I haven't used it myself, (i use a more manual custom approach) but it should work for you.

also try dvd decrypter I use that and is so easy.. but def go to those sites that were suggested.
