Hi folks,

i have a bunch of episodes from a tv-series. All those files a divx, i tried to convert them and make them dvd-compliant but i figured out that when authoring those files on a dvdr it is a waste of space. each file is about 450MB but i can only get 3 of them on a dvd 'cause my proggie says 120min is full.
I had the idea to make a (S)VCD on a DVDr, which would allow me to have like 10 episodes on 1 disk.
is this possible or can vcds only be done on simple cds?
Hope you get my idea ;)

I was about to post a new thread regarding this but I want to use dvd-to-mpeg to make the mpg,then create a svcd image with something like VCDEasy and burn it! It's alot simpler than all that ripping stuff and is great for a newbie like me:)

@JR2k
I wouldnt do this. If you have a great source like a dvd and a dvd-burner then dont convert it to svcd.
I started out with dvd burning 3 weeks ago. That makes me a newbie too ;)
But after 2 tries with rishardc's great guide i made my first copy. that was 2 1/2 weeks ago.
Give it a try dont make a good source worse.
I cant make my sources (avi) better, so for me the conversion to svcd is no lack of quality.

Kr0max,

Not if you want to play in a standalone player. Pending on your DVD player, you can put VCD quality movies on DVD-R and it will play. Not all thoguh. Some of the more recent panasonic players are REALLY good with this. The only thing you will have to do that differs is the auido will have to get changed form 44 to 48 khz
