a shop around my way where i buy cdrs and dvdrs said they have new software for ripping movies they said u type in the size u want the movie to be riped to, they said they ripped a 9gb movie to 4.2gbs in 30mins could this be true.

it is,,dvd movie copy by steinberg,,it resizes the original
to fit one dvd-r,,,,

Have tried the movie copy its wank had some issues with it went to their forum and everybody was complainig about it the first problem i had was everything is done through your reader so you put the disc in and 24 hours later it is still reading and converting the disc maybe if i had been a bit more PATIENT ??????????

I've heard that version 2 is already in the pipline from Steinberg, I wonder why?, and will be a different puppy altogether.
