i just bought a tx cdrw 52x24x52 as my old cdrw (lg 8x) was gettin slow. i installed the cdrw and tried to burn a few cd's, the problem is it will not burn at more than 3x !!!! thinking my setup was wrong i took it to my m8's and it did the same on his pc.... i took it back to the shop and they say they tested it and the cdrw is fine, they are saying my setup is wrong and that the cdrw is burn proof so that will make it write slow but surely a 52x cdrw should write a little bit faster than 3x !!!!

anyone got any ideas or is the shop just fobbing me off ????

thanks

Try enabling DMA in the Hardware Manager/ Device Settings. Also in the BIOS make sure the burner is not set to PIO mode.

Additionally, check the jumper setting on the drive to make sure it's correct. Try assigning specific jumper settings to the drives instead of Cable Select.
Make sure your burning software supports the newer drives, older versions of the software may require updates.
