i recently flashed my bios to up grade to a bigger cpu
now in device manager i keep getting a yellow question mark?
and it says its a 'pci multimedia audio device' its found ???
im very confused......... i have a sound blaster live 5.1
and the sound works fine
is it finding the onboard sound?
if so how do i do it??
do i need to disable some thing in the bios????

Yep, you need to go into the BIOS, and disable onboard sound.

do you know where it is in the bios ??
is there more than one setting in the bios??

Since you never bothered to say which model motherboard you have or which version BIOS you have, it's difficult for people to say where exactly in BIOS it is.
Use a little common sense and just look through the BIOS menus until you find an option related to sound or audio then turn it off. If you really get stuck you could always read the Motherboard manual. :hdspin:

The thing to do, is to make sure that all references to the Onboard Sound Card are disabled. EG Gameport, MPU401, SoundCard.... These are the usual options shown in the bios. Just disabling Onboard Sound does not mean it disables everything to do with it, disable the others I have mentioned and see what happens. If you get no luck with this, remove all references to the Soundblaster card, shut down and restart and let windows find them all again. Hopefully this should work.
