I think the ps2 community needs more homebrew programs. We have some of the best games, no dought, but we need more programs. Dreamcast was made into a great console because of homebrew programs, and xbox has their media player. Ps2 has a divx player, which is great, but i beleive we need more homebrew programs. mp3 players, internet tools (browser, chat agent, more?), image veiwers.........the possibilities are enless........

PS2 is a really complicated system, that's why there's not much Homebrew Developments for it. We would need really skilled people, who are willing to spend their time, to make the PS2 Homebrew Scene a big hit.

vcbb53, if you want homebrew, they you need to send some money to the developers and help them.

PS2 is a game console, not a computer, its made to play games. Theres already a mp3 player, and Netscape is already working on a Browser.

PS2MAME is ok. There are also Boot Screen editors etc. They are out there you just need to search cause I can't post links to other sites.

PS2 is the hardest console to develop for since the N64, if the ps2 was as easy to program as the Xbox, or even the DC the library of homebrew would be huge due to the large userbase.
If homebrew is what you are looking for then you will need an Xbox.
