Solved my problem, just had to edit the ini before i burned evox to disk.

But just wondering, do i put games on E: drive and where do i put the command line in the evox ini to play the game (also dont know what the command line would be).

i have created a folder on e: called games and inside that folder i have created another 1 called deathrow so its d:\games\deathrow

Cheers

The evox menu uses AutoAddItem, so your game should be automatically added to the list.

Unfortunately, some games have ugly titles e.g. use all capitals, so I prefer to list mine manually.

Make sure in the relevant sub-menu evox.ini is searching the right folder. If you want to manually list an item, simply add it to the games sub-menu in this format:

Item "Deathrow", "e:\games\deathrow\default.xbe"

Here's my evox.ini menu section:

[i][Menu]

Section "Root"
{
Section "Gamez"
{
Item "FIFA 2003","f:\FIFA 2003\default.xbe"
Item "HALO","f:\HALO\default.xbe"
Item "Madden NFL 2003","f:\Madden NFL 2003\default.xbe"
Item "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance","f:\Mortal Kombat\default.xbe"
Item "NCAA Football 2003","f:\NCAA Football 2003\default.xbe"
Item "RalliSport Challenge","f:\RalliSport Challenge\default.xbe"
Item "Splinter Cell","f:\Splinter Cell\default.xbe"
Item "The Thing","f:\The Thing\default.xbe"
Item "TimeSplitters 2","f:\TimeSplitters 2\default.xbe"
}
Section "Programs"
{
Item "boXplorer","e:\applications\boxplorer\default.xbe"
Item "",""
Item "Backup System Files",@11
Item "Flash BIOS",@1
}
Item "",""
Item "Change Skin",@13
Item "System Settings",@9
Item "",""
Item "M$ Dashboard",@3
Item "Reboot",@5
Item "Shut Down",@10
}
[i]

It's quite different from the default, but that's the point. Mess around with it until you've got something you like. I don't have many games/apps, so I like to manually list them.

Incidentally, my games are on the f:\ drive because that's where all my space is! Music, game saves, etc go on e:\.

In evox.ini make sure Use F Drive is set to Yes. (You can do this through evox settings). But unless you've upgraded your HDD, there won't be a great deal of space anyway.

Thanks for the reply again m8, the strange thing is use f drive is already set to yes, this is what it says in my ini :

[Misc]

AutoLaunchGames = No
AutoLaunchDVD = No
DVDPlayer = "f:\applications\dvdx\default.xbe"
AutoLaunchAudio = Yes
#AudioPlayer = "c:\msxboxdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard = "c:\msxboxdash.xbe"
UseFDrive = Yes
SkinName = Evox2
IGR = Yes

Is it not working because of this line

DVDPlayer = "f:\applications\dvdx\default.xbe"

Because i dont have dvdx installed on my hd

Thanks

Are you sure your f:\ drive isn't just full? Just seems odd you have a ref to it in your evox.ini.

If not, you'll have to format the f:\ drive, but I haven't had to do that, so I'm not sure how it's done.

Here's the tutorial though ;)

Does it matter what drive you save a game too? Can I save it to E instead of F?

gjac1, just checked out my drives and F is at zero as well and I haven't moved anything over yet. Kinda nervous to format the F drive. What do you think?

I think by default XBox saves all your saved games to E:

But yes, you can put your own games on E: if you want to. (I think that's what you are asking, provided you have enough space for the game on E:)

Saintgames, i formated my f: drive using the guide that 49er directed me to and it worked fine. I dont think it actually formats it more unlocks it for use cos it is done within half a second. But i found when i went to transfer a game over to the f: drive it was taking 3 times as long as what it normally does so the only thing i can think of is that it formats the drive as you use it. The game works fine though.
