I had a DVD-ROM (G Drive) and a CD-RW (H Drive) on my computer(Xp). I replaced my CD-RW with a faster one. I used the same jumper settings as my old CD-RW. But NOW when i try to burn using my Nero it thinks that my DVD-ROM is my new CD-RW and tries to burn the CD.

I can see both my DVD-ROM and CD-RW from My Computer and can play Audio CDs in both.

Both the DVD-ROM adn CD-RW are connected to the Secondary on the motherboard using a single cable. The jumper settings are set to CS (Cable Select) on both of them.

I guess if i SWAP them it shoudl work. But i dont want to do that as i want to keep the TOP one as DVD-ROM and the Bottom one as CD-RW.

Could some one help me out. Thanks a lot!!

Try setting the jumpers to master and slave respectively. Daft question, but is the correct device selected within Nero ?
