Hi all, can someone tell me if I've killed my liteon? I changed it from slave to master and didnt take the slave jumper pin out, I just stuck the other pin on the master connectors (I couln't see the other conector with the torch dammit). It still reads but the 'burn' light stays on all the time even when there's nothing in there.............now stop laughing and help.

No. It's just a setting that tells the device if it's the Master or slave. Set the jumper correctly and you'll be fine. Go into Device manager, find the burner and remove it. Then reboot to get the O/S to detect the burner again.
If the device is on the IDE cable by itself it must be the master. With 2 devices one must be master & the other slave.
