I live in the US but I use fujifilm discs which support the 4x burn. They are more expensive but I have been using them for recorded movies and they work great on my 30001R PS2. The others that I have heard do a good job are Verbatim, Ritek (although I understand these are getting harder to find), and I have heard a couple of people mention success with Kypermedia.

The K Hypermedia don't like my version 7 PS2 at all..
Ritek,BeAll from Samsung or DVDPro from Meritline.(just ordered a spindle of Ritek) check meritline DVD-R,they have a PS2 media list..
I'm still trying to figure out what my PS2 likes, don't know if it's silvers, dark or light disc..
