Im using Smartripper, followed by Rempeg2 and ifoedit to make my backups and then burning to DVD on a Sony DRU-500A (Following the online guide at www.dvd2dvr.com exactly). When I play back a copied disk in my DVD player (Sony DVP-CX875P), every 60 seconds or so, I get 5-10 seconds of a slight shudder in the picture. Other than that, the picture quality is great and the audio is fine. The shudder is rather annoying though, and was thinking that it may be due to ReMpeg2 or possibly the media im using. Is this normal or can anyone suggest something it may be? I was under the impression I should be able to make almost perfect backups. I tried to use CCE at first, but switched to ReMpeg2 becuase I just couldnt get CCE figured out (Plus it leaves a watermark). Are there any other cheap/free programs out there that will do the re-encoding faster than 8 hours??!! Im new at this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

No, it doesnt skip, as it is playing, it looks like the picture vibrates from side to side by a tiny ammount (very fast), so the image becomes slightly blurry. It also pulses as it does it, its not a constant blur. The movie will play perfect for about a minute or so, and then this will happen. The only other way I could describe it would be if you had a pager on vibrate and as it was going off, you pressed it against the DVD player and somehow the vibration casued the picture to "shudder or vibrate" back and fourth slightly (becomes blurry-clear-blurry-clear...etc). I hope this helps. THANKS!
