Ive been told its possible to buy standard replacement fascias for CD ROM drives etc (my new case is nice and black/silver but my old CD Writer is standard cream !). Id like to get a black fascia for it rather than have to respray it, but cant seem to find any stockists online ? Can anyone help point me in the right direction ?

Cheers !

Memorex dont manufacture there own products as far as I know so unless you can find out the OEM for it it's probably just as easy to remove the fascia and spray it..

Thats the conclusion I was coming to !

Any suggestions for the type of black spray paint to use or will any type do the job OK ?

Cheers !

Hi m8

Dont know really I would just check your local store and check the reverse of the can to see if it's suitable, don't forget to remove the fascia m8 :D

I found car body spray to work quite well. Make sure you hold the can at least 12 - 18 inches away, against a couple of sheets of newspaper. Do this outside.
Put the paint on as fine as possible, this will stop you getting runs & build up spots. It will take about 3-4 sprays, letting it dry for an hour or so each time.
Remember the finer each coat the better the finished article.

You could try and swap the drive for a lite-on as its easy to get hold of black facias for them. I think plextor do a few black models too.
