im having trouble with the outlook express on the laptop which is connected wirelessly to another pc which is connected to the internet.

I can view new emails on outlook express but i can send any. I used to be able to send emails when the laptop was connected to the internet directly.
what settings do i need to change?

any help would be great

Hi roberthartt,

Answering the last bit first it looks as if the laptop is set to dial up in internet explorer settings or OE settings.

In OE, have a look at the account settings and change the connection settings to either connect via a lan or connect using IE's settings. In IE settings, set to use existing connection. This should fix this bit.

For sending mail this is more tricky. It all depends how you have set up the network but if you are just using the router, i.e no router gateway software like wingate is involved all should be ok. Have a look at OE settings for smtp server and make sure it is set to smtp.ntlworld.com. If this is ok give us some more details like the error message you are getting.
