I am going to procure some ps2 backups both cdr and dvd. I have a few questions. What sound quality can I expect? Will the dvd based games be missing any of the movies? Is there anything else than can go wrong?

The dvd games will not be missing anything, the cdr games will be missing movies and or sound, really depends on the games your getting.

Some games are CD-ROM based Some DVD-ROM based.

CD-R rips wear out the laser.
