Hi ppl
I very recently bought a v7 messiah modded ps2 from the BST forum
when i turned the ps2 on there was a certain funny noise that occured occassionally i ignored this as the games were loadind alright although sometimes after a few tries.
Finally today noise has materialised whilst i was just about to start playing a match on iss2 instaed of kick off i was left with a blank tv screen suprisingly, so i reset it. After this the ps2 stoped working.and this noise now is a constant feuture since earlier today and no games seem to be loading.
This noise starts intially as i turn the ps2 on and carries on, it seems something is also impeding the rotation of the games disc as it sounds like it spinning slower. also instead of loading i end up with the systems browser screen.
has anyone met this type of problem before or know how to deal with it?

This is probably a problem i cant fix myself i heard a place in manchester the bowlers computer fair has ppl there fix ps2's if somecould please tell me the address and when the fair is on?
Any help to my problems would be much appreciated.
Thank You nilesh

What sort of noise mate? Is it actually coming from the PS2 itself or through the speakers you're using? Is it a Messiah 1 or Messiah 2??

Wouldn't recommend taking it to Bowlers mate, heard to many bad reports about the place.

Does it play original games o.k?

If its was a grrrrrr.... noise, thats because the mainboard cover isn't on correctly.

Does it occur everytime you turn the PS2 on, or reset it?

Hi thanks for your replies
it is a grr..... noise and its coming from inside the ps2 it happens when i hit the reset or on button so the cd starts rotating, (not the switch at the back).
I have i messiah 2 i think, if it is the mainboard cover not being on properly why did start constantly happening all of a sudden? where before yesterday i only heard it now and then.
The funny thing is that i didnt displace or jog the ps2 in any way all i was doing was playing a game which then went blank so i reset the ps2 and after that the noise is always there and i cant load any games.

it sounds like maybe the noise is coming from the fan inside i dont know wheather i should open it to check. Would this be advisable for an amutaer like me?

It's probably the fan wire hitting the fan blades. I've seen this before. You could probably get into it without incident, all you need is a screwdriver. If you're learly though, send it to someone...
