Sup i just got the getaway dvdr burned on a silver top Ritek. It maybe will take about 6 times to boot but when it does it takes it like 3 min to go to the main menu and when i click on new game it takes me to a black screen. The background music still plays but i still get the black screen no matter what.

does the ritek media normally work for you, how are u booting it?

What chip and version PS2 do you have.

i have a ps2 v7 chipped with apple and burned the getaway with ritek at 1x and I get the same black screen as you. I wonder if it's the media. Has anyone else have this problem? Will burning it on good media like verbatim and tdk work? ritek's have been successful for me so far except this game.

i have it on apple media. works fine.

yeah could be the media or just the fact that you've burned it onto a bad disk
try burning another copy preferrably on another media

I got the same prob. I got a V5 with a Magic 3 and I have been burning my games on Princo's at 1X like Vice City and Kingdom Hearts and have had close to zero problems (nothing significant) during gameplay BUT Getaway will look like it's about to boot, like I'll get that Black "Playstayion2" screen and then it will just turn black and i will let it go for 5 minutes and it still does nothing. Who knows what the heck is wrong because it seems we are having the same problem so many different ways....? I'm using Prassi Primo to burn and I'm sure I created the global image and all that the right way. What are you using?

i downloaded the rars from usenet. i extracted the gi and it came out to 4 files. i loaded the smallest file and burned the disk on a verbatim dvdr no problem. when i tried to boot it on my messiah modded ps2 i had no luck. i just got a "disc read error" message. i have no idea what happened. 99% of the games i' downloaded (ps2 & xbx) have worked. i am beggining to think that the GI is bad.

The guy said that they work on like all his systems that he had sent out to.

hey i had the same problem....i used apple media and now its fine! =) i was using princos at first...so, media does count

yea I got a copy of it, burned on Memorex DVD-R and that doesn't boot on my V5 USA PS2 w/Magic3U. It loads, then goes to a black screen, then it goes back to the browser
