As the subject states, what is the general opinion on which firmware is the best for the pioneer drives?

have been up and down on firwares this past week or so and I'd suggest v1.31 official

it gives better burns on 1x media and seems a lot more stable

On the other hand I used 1.31 and it gave me nothing but problems, now I use the hacked 1.40 and that works for me.

I use 1.32 and had good luck. I can only burn Riteks at 1x but thats OK. All dvdrs come out fine and play fine.

I have tried every single firmware over the past week and tested using different speeds\media for each firmware etc, the best firmware I have found is v1.20, it plays everything. When using bulkpaq, the dvds would not play on my ps2 or my stand alone players with any other version but 1.20, e-proformance play perfectly with 1.20, horrible with v1.30 and 1.31. The ritek media discs played what ever firmware I used. Does anybody know why firmwares make such a difference? Go with v1.20, u cant go wrong, even if it is 1x burning.
