Hello, I recently tried to install a no-solder mod in my v7 ps2. It worked for 5 minutes- (well at least powered up and read the swap magic disk). Then after shutting it off, it would never turn back on again. I dont know what went wrong, any suggestions out there?

some times them r-mods blow fuses. i am unsure which one it would of blown.

try asking in the MODCHIP HELP & INSTALLATION section at the top of the main PS2 forum section. you may get a faster reply

There's a bunch of fuses... anything marked with numbers on top on the main board is a fuse. 33, 50, 100, S7, etc.

the old PSX used to have a glass fuse by the power supply, isnt the PS2 the same?

PS1 fuse usually blows, its a very small fuse that looks like a resistor.

It is marked and usually situated near F1

Well I checked the power board and fuses and they are all fine so I ordered the Playstation 2 Reset/Eject Cable from: http://www.richspsxparts.com/reset.html for like 7 bucks. I think this is the problem. we'll see when it gets here.

Nope, this wasn't the solution. Time for a proper burial for this ps2. Better luck next time i guess. Any one have any suggestions that wont cost me an arm and a leg?

Yea, just buy a premod no swap ps2 and you won't have to deal with the risk and hassle all together.

Most likely PS14 fuse is blown. That's the case with most no swap mods anyway. Check that fuse.

where is the ps14 fuse located? Is it on the power board or on the "motherBoard"
