What DVD format is used by ordinary DVD players? (i.e. what format do I need to be able to burn so the results can be played back with everyday dvd players)
thanks in advance!

if its just for your self, you could try dvd-video option in nero,
but they wont play on the x-box and some dvd players,,,
nero has an option to burn udf,,your burner should be able to do it,,,

the cheaper option is the pioneer 105,,but as you know some
of the cheaper media doesnt work to well on it,,i had real problems
at the start,,,i started using 4x dvd-rs now,,not one fail,,,there are
some 2x dvd-rs out now that work well with the pioneer 105,
but you need to check that they do,,,,
im not sure about the sony,,,dvd+r is more expensive than most dvd-r,,,
try another post asking about the sony,,ive read some people have had
problems with the sony also,,,with cheap media,,,
theres a new teac 4x dvd-r/-rw just out,,its based on the pioneer 105,,,
i havent heard any reports on this drive yet,,,how the media is with it,,,

The SONY is twice the drive the 105 is! I own both the 105 and the Sony 500a.I have had FEWER problems with media on the Sony, then the 105!Also check the posts, more people are complaining about the 105 then the Sony. Most even think the 104 is a better drive!
