Hi,

Can anyone help me with this problem.

I have used spruce-up to creat various DVDs with menus but cannot get them to play on my stand alone DVD player (DVL 909). The player recognises DVDRs and DVDRWs and in particular the ones I am using for my authorisings. For example, If I do a straight copy of a DVD 5, they play no problem. However, if I try to play one of my creations, either with a menu or even without - made to just straight play, the machine recognises that it is a DVD but will not play it. Just sits with DVD in the display window. I tried it on my mates 454 and it comes up with a message saying "cannot play disk", but my brothers pioneer 525 plays it no problem, as does my PS2. Is it that the player needs to be able to handle disks in a particular format , do I need to change a setting in Spruce-up or is there something else.

This is really frustrating and any help would be greatfully received.

Do you create a titleset or burn it from within spruce up. Anything i do in spruce up i create a titleset first, if it has a source of 16:9 before you burn you need to use ifoedit to change the movie ratio back to its original form as Spruceup will only output as 4:3, Also for burning try using stomp record (Prassi) or even gear pro alot of people will say nero but i personally think nero is far less compatible with standalone players

I do all the first bits - output to title set, edit the VOB if the source is 16:9 rather than 4:3. I usually burn with Nero to make the DVD. I have prassi primo - hoe do I burn a DVD video disk using that ?

Cheers for the help

Nero is your culprit m8 not Spruce... it's well documented.
From File in Stomp or Prassi (They are identical) Select Data Job.
Then From the Add Flders bit Click on that and Simply add your VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders created by spruce and hit burn.... so simple.
