I have heard that afterburner lights can be a pain in the arse to install. Unless you are good at soldering I wouldn't touch it. I was just reading people commenting on this on another site. You might just as well go with one of the external lights as the good ones cost about the same (or a little less) then an afterburner. Probably the most expensive option is to wait a little while as Nintendo is claiming that they are going to release a gameboy advance that has a backlight pre-installed since that is obviously the biggest complaint people have about the system. I can relate to this as I have one myself and unless you are under a flourescent light you have to constantly readjust the GBA to get that perfect angle so that you can see the screen. I hope this helps.

hi rabby2
i got one of these kits for my gba from

http://www.liksang.com/default.php

just looked at their site and they have details of the new gba sp which comes backlit...

i fitted the kit in my gba in about 40 mins, found it ok to do, hardest bit was cutting out the plastic from the case.
there is plenty of help with fitting on the liksang website.
check it out.

good luck
mike

i soldered 2 ps1s a while back to hopefully i can fit one of these , i really need a good light for it so may just get the afterburner , but does it really make a huge difference ? I think the internal light will be handier than an external light .

they will fit one for you for £40
fitted my own, was a bit fiddly but biggest problem was making sure there were no dust particles on it (i left a few on, i can see them but you soon forget once you start playing)
