I'm trying to install a 40 gig hard drive I got from my brother into a win2k system and I'm having a lot of problems. I wanted to set this new drive as my master and load win2k onto it, but the system refuses to boot up with it installed. When I try booting up with the win2k boot disk (4 floppies) my machine freezes after the last disk (#4) indicates that it is booting win2k. If I make the drive a slave and boot up with the original drive the system recogines it as a slave and boots all the way to the Win 2000 Professional sceen and then freezes. The only way I can get the system to boot all the way up is to remove the new hard drive all together. Does anyone know what would being causing this problem. Thanks in advance.
