Hi i recently upgraded my ATI Rage graphics to a Geforce 440 MX, PCI card, using windows 98, it came with the driver on a disc, and i installed with no problems, the problem i now have though is when i go into DXDIAG to test direct draw and so on, it says next to AGP Texture Acceleration : 'not available'??
the direct draw is there, as is direct 3D, but no texture acceleration? i used to be able to turn this option on or off before when using my ATI graphics, so where has it gone?
Is it because i have to download the latest drivers? in my display properties it gives me the option to go to nvidias website for driver updates, but im not really sure what to do, do i have to uninstall the old driver b4 installing any new ones?

Any help is always appreciated,

Thanks Nelo27.

I'd try updating the driver. A new one was released on December 2, 2002 so it is likely newer than what you have now. You can download it HERE (http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=win9x_41.09). There is detailed instructions including pictures on how to install a driver in Windows 98 located HERE (http://www.nvidia.co.uk/view.asp?PAGE=new_driver_9x).

Thanks for the reply Elaine, that is the driver that i thought i needed, but in the link you posted it doesnt mention uninstalling my current driver? will the new install just overwrite my current driver, or should i uninstall first?

Again, many thanks

No, you don't need to uninstall the old one first. Just follow the directions and it will replace it with the new driver.
