in line to get a pair of wired elsa glasses from ebay but in the 3d stereo pdf from nvidia it says that to use shutter type 3d glasses your mnitor must be capable of 100hz refresh rate or above, but just above that it says that they RECCOMEND a monitor capable of 100hz+ or above.
so whats the deal,
will they work with a lower refresh rate and look not as good or wont they work at all

If you want a steady, clear picture you'll want the higest refresh rate possible. They work at a lower refresh rate but you may see alot of flickering on the screen as it alternates the image for the 3D effect. You're also more likely to get one hell of a headache...

ah well guess its time i forked out for a new monitor since i've had this 14" hansol for about 5-7 years now

Not alot of moniters are not compatable of 100+ refresh rates, unless you get a expensive one.
