You can have up to 4 IDE devices (just make sure the jumpers are set correctly} ThE SnAkE Feb 15, 2003, 01:47 PM oh right, do i connect the third drive to the master or the secondary slave? thanks The Praetorian Feb 15, 2003, 02:50 PM You can connect it to either, but if you intend copying DVDs then it would be quicker and more stable if you put it on the other IDE cable to your DVD player. I thought only special MB have this feature and many of them have only 2 IDE for up to 4 devices. ThE SnAkE Feb 15, 2003, 03:52 PM ok, i need help... on my computer, i have my dvdrom-drive and cdrw connected to one IDEI SLOT. and the IDEI2 slot is free, do i connect my dvdrw to the slot which is free, or do i need to connect it to the IDEI slot which has the other drives on it. i would like to do 'on the fly burning' will this be possible depending on the idei i connect it too? whats the best way to do it? thanks Ageamiu Feb 15, 2003, 03:59 PM Excuse me. My mistake! I thought 4 IDE channels for up to 8 devices. In my mind was: there isn't a man without 2 HDDs (at least) and he needed 5 IDE. I tried to clear my mistake but the forum forbade me.
