I really need some help. My DVD burner wont read blank DVD-R media. It will read Blank DVD-RW media, Written DVD-R media, and every type of cd. The discs I'm using are general Sliver-Top Ritek DVD-R Discs. Why wont it read? I'm out of ideas. When i first got it the drive about 2 weeks ago it read these same discs fine. Is there some type of setting that could have changed. This my Third time trying to burn a DVD-R. The first 2 where successfull. I'm out of ideas.

have you installed any new programs at all? changed any settings? what is your operating system and computer specs.

What burning software are you using and are you sure you've selected the 104 as the current recorder ?

I have 500mhz box running Win XP. I haven't really changed anything. It seems to be working fine now. What i did was put he blank dvd-r in and restarted to system twice. On the second restart it was able to read the disc????

My m8 fixed this with a firmware upgrade, now reads all disks fine!!!
