Can I play a burnt movie copied to the Xbox HD like I can a game? What file starts the movie?

?????? just copy to your hdd and then open up XBMP then goto my videos :-)

XBMP is XBox mediaplayer. (It's a separate program from your dash/evoxdash) If it's a movie DVD-R, you can just use DVDx2 to play it without the dongle.

hope you dont mind me asking a question in here guys seeing as its along the same llines - i have mpegs on dvdr (each one in its own folder) - will these play in the media player straight off the disc as opposed to copying to the HDD ?

Should do mate. My random mpgs played fine on CDr.
You can just look through the Disk just like another drive.
