I am about to go pruchase an XBOX, do the chips and dash work on the newest XBOX mdoels out? Or should I try to find an older one?

Yes they do work well on both models although it depends on what chip you are planning on getting. If it is a Matrix you might have to fill the connection holes with solder as that is the only real difference when it comes to modding a Version 1.0 vs. the newer V1.1. The evox dash works well on both versions of xbox (to my knowlege there is no difference for installing evolution x on a 1.0 or a 1.1). Back to modchips though if you get either an X2 lite or an X2 pro there is the 10 wire adaptor and a pin-header. If you get a new xbox (V1.1) then use the pin-header as it sits better in the empty holes) if you get an older xbox (V1.0) then use the 10 wire adaptor. I hope this helps.
