i have been looking into getting a no swap chip and have been shopping around . i have seen alot that would work on my v5 ps2 but im not sure what to get . ive read alot about chip clones but im still not sure what the differance is between them and origonals . the price of a clone realy makes me wonder if it is worth while , but only if its not gona mess up my ps2. so is a clone just a cheap copy that is more likly to poop out on me ? if so where is the cheapest place to get either . thanks .

well i went to game gizmo and seen the majic 3 - 3.1 , messhia 2 pro , and the stelth chip with prices between 35- 80 us dollars but i have also found clones of all these chips for 5-15 us dollars witch brings me back to my origonal question what the heck is a clone and is it worth it?

i find it hard to beleave that all copys of modchips are bad (thats like saying only origonal ps2 games work and are worth while)but we wouldent be talking now if that was tru . does any 1 out there use 1 or tried 1 ? i would realy like to hear from someone thats not tring to sell modchips because of course everything elese is junk but what you have(no offence kizmet) but i would like a non byist opinion . im looking for anyone the knows where there are any reviews on any of these chips or knows a little about them or even tryed 1.

true not all are bad but it can be hit and miss I have heard some horror stories about those who have gotten Magic clones. Messiah 2 is very expensive but well worth it, not seen many complaints about it. It is probably the most recommended modchip for the PS2 (no swap)
