Can anyone help me here?
Tried everything I know, but still cannot get the damn PC to work properly.
Here's what is happening:
The PC just suddenly stopped functioning whilst installing MS Works this afternoon, and I have spent the past 16 hours trying to correct it.
1. No mouse detection, despite re-installing the appropriate drivers.
Having to TAB through everything, which is pretty annoying.
2. Display will go no higher than 16 colours, despite numerous attempts to re-install motherboard drivers.
3. Cannot even re-format the drive. When I go to MS-DOS and type "Format C: " it gives you the WARNING, so when saying 'YES' to it, it comes up with the following message "Drive C: is currently in use by another process. Aborting format"
I have scanned for viruses with PC-Cillin 2000, Norton Antivirus 2002, Mcafee 2002. And they detect NOTHING.
I am still in the same position I was in at 1.00pm this afternoon. Getting nowhere fast!!!!!
Any suggestions?
I would really appreciate your help.
Is there another way of formatting your hard drive without using DOS?
Cheers,
