The compaq is a lil old, when your playing any 3D game it will suddenly restart after a short period of time.

I updated Direct X from 7.0 to 8.1, and i also updated the Sis 560 display drivers to no aveil.

I'm beginning to think it might be a ventilation problem, i check the specs on the games i was running, just some cheap shooting games, and i cleared the specs, 126 ram/533mhz/only a 4mb display adapter, but the game runs fine for a lil bit, then it just reboots

i also started a game, and ALT-TABed out and did a CTRL-ALT-DEL to see the system resources and they appeared to be fine.

ITs not my comp, but a friend of mines so i dont have direct access to it all the time, just wondering if anyone else had this same time of problem and if they had any remedies.

Well, it is probably one of three things. Overheating, faulty ram, or a bad power supply.
