Hi guys

Can anybody answer what i imagine is a pretty simple question for slightly more experienced user of the above app.

I can extract the various stuff and make a decent mpeg from PAL dvds but seem to have poor results with NTSC discs - when i rip a US dvd the mpeg that i end up with is jerky - not smooth like the PAl ones.

ive messed around with a few settings but cant seem to find the right combination. Unable to find any clear user guide for this.

Can anybody spare a bit of time to help me out?

Any help appreciated!

Cheers

Did you select force film in DVD2AVI and perform a 3:2 pulldown on the 23.976fps input?

hmm, seeing as youve lost me i guess the answer would be no! All these options are with in the app? If so i will give it a try tonight then celtic....you reckon this would be a fix?

Thanks

Yes, encoding an NTSC film source at the full 29.976fps will I believe cause the problems that you speak of. Improperly converting NTSC to PAL or vice-versa would also cause motion problems if that is what you were doing.

I am sure that someone who actually encodes NTSC material would be able to give you far more help.

Go to vcdhelp.com. On the left hand side of the page click on the convert section. When the new link pops up scroll down to a section called framerate conversion. It is a guide to converting from NTSC to PAL. Hope it helps.
