I asked something like this a while back....

My standalone dvd player seems to have problems with certain dvd-r medias, while the dvd drive in my computer doesnt have any problems at all. So I wanted to know, if i played the movie on my computer and hooked the graphics card up to my tv, if I'd get the same picture quality as I would playing it from my standalone.

Today a friend told me that the picture size I'd get on the TV screen would probably be the same resolution as it would be on my computer's screen..and so, would look very bad if i enlarged it to the full size of the TV screen....he said it was something with the computers dvd drive not being able to recognize a greater resolution than the computers' screen could support or something. This seem highly unlikely to me...anyone know if it's true??

(Sorry if these seems really confusing...)

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

You might have problems with macrovision if you don't have a video stabalizer.
