Who has told you Nero won't work, I use nothing else and have never had a problem.

But if you still want to create an image try WinISO.

I think it's because nero makes a nrg file instead of an iso file.

In Nero, when you choose to save the the image file, go to file type and change it to .iso

the reason i dont want to use nero is becuase its not 100% compatible with all dvd player unlike prassi if anyone has any ideas let me know ive tried a good few apps and not many offer anything like this

I don't know if your last statement is correct... I dont think the burning software matters as far as compatability in playback goes... I would think that burning 2 folders to any kind of disc would be the same no matter what program you were using... The choices made when choosing software is more like reliability, ease of use, and options...

Just my 2 cents, but I could be wrong.

And why would you want to make an image if you already have the files on your computer?

In nero, just use the wizard to make a DVD Video. Then add the contents of your Video_Ts when it asks you to. I have never had a problem.

You can do the same thing with Prassi as well, only the steps are a little different. www.dvd2dvdr.com has some info.

nero is not 100% for dvd movies on all players ( that is 200% fact )

the reason why i want to do this is so i can burn VIDEO_TS folders in prassi that have been created by pinnacle instant copy

the image i am left with does not have an AUDIO_TS folder and will not burn in prassi as its a very complicated dvd and prassi only likes the basic stuff

ps

tj69 - download or buy a retail copy of nero as aposed to using a freebie given away with a cd writer if you cant do either mail me on cdave4@hotmail.com i will help you out

tradefast: I had the same problem as you (i think). I wanted to backup fight Club, so I used DVD Decypter to make an ISO. Then I was to load that ISO with Pinnacle Instant Copy. I have applied the registration patch so I can choose to take extras out. But there wasn't a AUDIO_TS folder, and I want both the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders so it will play in my PS2. So I extracted the Folders with DVD Decrypter and made an ISO with Nero. I then loaded that ISO with Pinnacle IC and went through the whole process and burned the iso with Prassi and it worked. Where as when it didn't have the AUDIO_TS folder it started and then stopped. I think this will answer your question. Let me know if you have any questions.

Yep, Nero did have a problem, but it is now sorted, see:

http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#c1022499813328

Also they have just released vers. 5.5.10.15 (28th Feb).

Apparently the Dvd2one author had discussions with Nero about the incompatibility issue and Nero have now fixed it. See quote from dvd2one's site below :

"Nero
As you might know, I discovered that there were problems with the compatibility of the disks that were written with Nero. Fortunately Ahead took these problems seriously, and they have worked to find a solution. I just tested a Release Candidate of V5.5.10.13 of their software, and as far as I can test the problems seem to have been solved! Great work guys!"

I'm using Nero 5.5.9.17 and I have no problems with compatibility. The issue is with the DVD Video compilation option. If you use DVD-ROM (UDF/ISO) option then you wont have a problem. Just select this option and drag the video_ts & audio_ts folders across.

The answer to your question , well kind of is to use a nice little program called img_tool . do a search on google.com as it is a freeware application

Usage is basically put the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders with the vobs and ifos all intact in the ROOT of one of your H/D's and run the program.

It will output a .img file , which can be mounted in daemon tools for testing, and burnt in Prassi (also nero i think , tho DVDdecrypter has support for this file format too )

Once burnt just playback ur DVD-r as usual.

I also have had problems with nero (allocation errors) when doing backups (using my pal Yohudi's no author multi-pgc guide , easiest way of a doing a multi i have found yet , and allows CCE encoded streams to be used in ifoedit to create the vobsets) ..........

Anyway enough of my methods ........ nero did have bugs with the UDF file system as some of the backups dont work in my panasonic player

However....... the bugs have been extensively worked on and are supposedly ironed out now.... yet to test so am unable to confirm this

Hope this helps

If u need anymore advice i'm on msn most evenings :D
