jsksjs Mar 03, 2003, 01:34 PM I know this is probably answered somewhere on this site, but, i heard that only certain CDRW drives will format CD+G discs correctly?
Im asking because i just removed my SONY CRX175A1 Drive, and, was going to replace this 24X10X40 drive with a 52X Buslink drive. What should i do? Keep the sony? Thanks for any help
daplaya Mar 03, 2003, 01:45 PM plextor is the best drive IMHO...

jsksjs Mar 03, 2003, 02:21 PM Thanks, but, i dont feel like buying another drive right now. I guess i should put the Sony back in and try that? Thanks for your help
gram77ok Mar 03, 2003, 02:26 PM let me know if your sony does cdg....coz my pals floggin one...
jsksjs Mar 03, 2003, 02:28 PM I thought i read that sony does, except for 2 models (i forgot the models, i read this, somewhere on this site, i believe). Its not the model i mentioned,,,,,And, they cant have an A or D at the end? Or something like that....
Phil_806 Mar 03, 2003, 06:57 PM Most Sony`s do Read & Write CD&G, but some will only write but not read. Check on Dart CDG website www.dartpro.com, and a list of writers will be on there that is compatable with their CDG software... but it`s a good guide.
steve54 Mar 03, 2003, 07:39 PM nearly all writers these days will write cdg but will not read.i have had virtually every plextor, except the external onesand the majority of them read and wrote cdg.if u are considering buying a new one go for the plextors.only draw back with plextors is that they wont copy some pc games.
oxocubeman Mar 03, 2003, 08:12 PM For whats its worth, my writer is a LG 48 speed but it wont read cdg discs but it will write them using cdrwin. Your Sony almost certainly will write cdg discs but wont read them.Go to www.goldenhawk.com and see if it is supported by cdrwin. Try www.karaokeplayground.co.uk for the help pages to burn with a non compatible burner. Let us all know how you get on. Feeling a little bit more normal now.
Phil_806 Mar 04, 2003, 06:08 AM same here oxocubeman. LOL
