I'm new to this PSX stuff, and need some info on why the games that I bought in Malaysia won't play on my playstation here in Australia. I have a mod chip, and have no trouble playing backups of games purchased here.

if it is a PSOne then they are region coded like a dvd player, i dont know if the regions are the same as dvd or exactly how they work but it must have a multi mod chip stealth wired preferably, even to play original games from other regions, if it is a psx then thats a good one

Need to know what model psx. Even some of the older model psx are region coded. You can get around this by using the import player disc. You just need to download it from megagames and burn it.

It is a psx I think. This is based on the fact that it doesn't say playstation one on the top like my friend's

He doesn't mean that type of model.
If you look on the bottom of your system, there is a series of numbers, and they should start with a certain number, 1XXX. 9XXX ETC.

sorry, I really am new to this. The model number on the bottom is SCPH 7502. Is that what I was looking for?

Yeah, that's what you were looking for. Anyhow, as ccmarci suggested, you can download and burn Import Player from www.megagames.com, don't worry, it'll work just fine since you've got a chip installed.
