Hey, I searched around and most people are saying magic 3.1 chips will not boot DVD9 discs?

I have a magic 3.1, and was able to boot Xenosaga (original). BUT, I had to press the reset AND eject buttons as I boot.

Is that the "off" feature of the magic 3.1, and thats why the game is booting, or does the magic 3.1 support DVD9.

The site I got it from (modchip.ca) claims it is DVD9 ready.

So my question is, how do I turn off my chip? Is it by holding down reset and eject? Or is that the method to boot DVD9 discs with the magic 3.1?

Thanks,

Thanks for all the info. So I can assume my magic3 is DVD9 ready. As long as I boot up with reset and eject instead of just reset.

magic3 were never dvd9 game ready 100%, only 40% but places like modchip.ca don't say that when they sell you that... now with magic 3.1 (approx. 90% dvd9 game ready) they came out and even stated magic3 was only 40% dvd9 ready. in a v5 it worked well, in other models just like crap.

i would just get a m2 pro, they are cheap now. $35
