Hi guys, I'm new to the ps2 scene... there are soooo many chips out there, but what I was wondering is if there is a truly solderless modchip out there for the ps2? I remember that for the ps1 they had those game enhancer things, is there anything like that for the ps2 yet? I would think that with all these systems having USB ports and broadband ports there would be some way to build an external mod that would just over ride the bios insde the ps2, but I guess I could be wrong... Let me know, and as far as what version ps2 I am talking about, I am not sure, since I dont have one yet, but a few friends of mine do...
Thanks

there is no solder chips for the v4-v7 but you would still have to take ur ps2 apart to install it, and with the no solder chips you have to use the swap magic discs or the gameshark to boot games.

That is why PSX is where it is now. PS2 is just that advanced:-)

There is the USB Neo Key.
But you have to solder 1 wire inside the PS2 which is alot better than haing to solder 10 to 20 like the new non-swap ones.

i just got mine installed professionaly with a messiah .. .a long time ago...
but now u can get the no-solder ones.... so they might be better.. if they can play dvd-r..
i dont know much about them though..
all i know is u probably need a GS or those swap magic discs things i hear about...
i think the usb ones arent that good cause from what i hear they can t play dvd-r, or its a pain to swap for dvdr..
the messiah and all those are good, but unless u got the money to ship your ps2 out and get it installed the no-solder might be good...
i've also seen those top-loading cover thingys (i forget the name) which might be the easiest/cheapest way...... but im not sure if it will f* up your laser or not... better ask around...
