i have just downloaded lord of the rings 2 .xvid

questions

1.. it will not play in the windows media player ( it just says looking for codec ) help what do i need for it to play

2..it it possible to record this to dvdr and if so how?

any help would be apprecated.

You need the XviD coded to play it.

Or ffdshow.

Assuming it is an AVI, then converting it is no different than any other AVI.

Also, if you want to you can just change it's fourCC code to DX50 so that it plays back as DivX5.xx.
