I've got a Sony DW U10A and I'm about to order some discs. I've used the 1x Ritek silvertops with no problem and I was thinking about getting some of the Data Write yellow tops (or their blue counterparts).

Anyone know if they are okay to use with my drive? Or any other media suggestions.

Cheers!

I`ve used them on my DVR-A05 and they were crap for movie backups, just thought I`d let you know. I ended up getting Ritek 4x and no problems yet.
£49.00 for 25. No point in cheap Media if it don`t work, but it`s really up to you if you want to take the chance.

Later.

I agree, stick to the Ritek discs. Whether your burner has difficulties with the datawrites or not you also have to contend with the fact that your dvd player might not be able to read them. Riteks work in the pickiest of dvd players and Datawrites are known to have issues with some of them. I have seen some people have great success with the datawrites and others like codeman are getting only about 15-20 to work out of a spindle of 50. Avoid the hassle and stick with quality media.

No prob. Turn on your xbox and eject the dvd tray. 1. Philips dvd drive=central pattern that has a rectangle that goes into a large circle 2. Thomson dvd drive central pattern=rectangle comming down into semicircle (the same width as the rectangle) 3. Samsung DVD Drive (if you have this drive it would explain why you are having such good luck with cheap media as it is considered by far the best for all types of DVD-R)=Two small circular holes outside of central pattern. I hope this helps

Works for me. I have a Pioneer 104 and i have used about 100 of these yellow discs and they are ace. They work on evertything like on my Sony dvd player, Xbox and even PS2 whilst some dvds dont work on PS2.

Thanks a lot guys.......I decided to order the sample pack from blank disc shop, if the yellow top I get with them work then I'll order 50, mainly want them for my own use so if they **** up it's not such a big thing.

Cheers!

I'm using datawrite yellow tops most of them are fine but in each bulkpack I get a few which are either scratched or appear to be delaminated in places these inevitably cause problems with skipping or freezing

Used about 50 yellow tops with the same sony drive as you. No problem with movies or xbox games.
Tried on several different standalone DVDs, no problems.
Xbox has a thompson DVD drive, again no problems.

Ive burned over 300 of these DVDs, in the last 2 and a half weeks, not had 1 problem. I have give these dvds to many people and never had 1 complaint yet. But when I was using a different firmware they didnt work on Ps2's!
