After burning what must be well over 100 dvd's using these two progs i'm suddenly getting a strange problem which had never happened in the past.
What happens is that the burn gets to around 80-90% and the burning light goes out on the 104 .The progress bar on the screen just stays where it is and hangs. there is no error message reported.Basically if it was left it would remain in this state forever.
It doesn't do this all the time just about 1 in 4 burns and does it with various media and also at 1X and 2X.Both stomp and nero cause the prob.
I,ve checked DMA etc and all seems to be well.
Any ideas anyone??

could your operating system be corrupted? try to use norton utilities to check for errors. if it still happens your drive may be burnt out. i personally would probably try to fresh install of the os if all else fails (which include formating my primary drive). i have my hd partitioned so i can easily move my documents and other files to the other partition, format the first and reinstall xp. i had a problem with my cable modem and after several hours on the phone with tech support i did a clean install and it worked fine. you never know. you may have installed another program or updated a current one and not even know that it screwed up something with the burning engines for you a104.
