Im not bothered about dolby or anything like that - just dvdr compatibility - my aiwa dvd is sposed to play dvdr's but it seems to be getting worse everyday !!!

out of the cheapy players what ones are the best with the most dvd media?

oh yeah svcd compatibiity, multi region and no macrovision would be nice as well!!!

Without a doubt the Roadstar dvd2019xi, also known as the Alba dvd114 and the Roadstar DVD114, all the same build but the 2019xi has a little added extra.
All these machines are multi region out of the box, macro off, plays multis, dvdr, vcd,svcd, cdr,cdrw, mp3 but the 2019 adds Jpeg picture playback !!
