US TV format which = 525 lines

PAL is UK/Euro format which = 625 lines

hi there please could some 1 help me i have bought several dvds like 8 mile, lilo and stitch, chigago,under cover brother etc from here of several different people

they all play perfict in my pc dvd player and on my standalone player technics sldv250 player

the media is dvd-r plus i have backed them up on dvd+r and dvd+rw and they all work fine on these players

BUT THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS WHEN I PUT THEM IN A XBOX NOTHING HAPPENS AND WHEN THEY GO IN PS2 THEY PLAY BUT IN BLACK AND WHITE PLUS I TRIED 1 IN MY FREINDS PLAYER WHICH IS A SONY STANDALONE PLAYER NOT SHAW WHICH ONE BUT ITS A LITTLE ROUND 1 THEY PLAY IN BLACK AND WHITE TO CAN SOME 1 PLEASE HELP ME AND TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM IS .

Get yourself a decent RGB cable instead of using the RF lead, your XBox will either have to be modded or have the dvd unit to play dvd's but if you get the dvd unit it will only play region 2 PAL disks. As C_D has already said to you american R1 disks are NTSC so if you do not use an RGB/scart you will display all in B&W
