OptoDisc also work very well. Personally I use OptoDisc thermals - plain silver top. You can get 'em for 85 cents to $1 each here in the US.

Depends on the individual drive too it seems and the batch your DVD-R's come from.

I've used Bulkpaq Gen3's, Datasafe Y-T's & Ritek 4X and not had a bad disc with any of those myself. Others have had bad problems with Bulkpaq'a & Datasafe, Princo dye seems to depend on how good that batch is it seems.

I agree that the Ritek dye discs are the best. I use Ritek silvertop DVD-R and Fujifilm DVD-R on my Cendyne105 (exact same drive as the Pioneer105 and A05). If your dvd player(s) is at all media picky I would recommend these discs, not to mention they also work great for XBOX and PS2 backups.

I also agree with 420. He is why I started using OptoDisc with my A05. Not a single bad one silver tops 150+ burns and 120+ on DVD-RW optodisc as well.

Stick with Riteks. They are always consistent, never have a good batch then a bad batch, they are always reliable.

They will work out cheaper in the long run.

they have the new optodisc 4X also

I'll stick with ritek, myself. My optodisc experience was not as good as the others
