Yeah the Dru500ax is a great burner in addition to the Pioneer. It will support the writing of both + and -. As long as you can find one and have the money then this would be a safe bet along with the Pioneer.

The new LiteOn's will hit the stores next month (April) and the 2 models are both dual-format and expected to be priced at $140 & $150 each.

Strong rumours indicate that they are Sony DRU-500's, which basicaly means that the Sony is really a rebadged LiteOn. ;)

$140.00 = £87.1749 GBP
$150.00 = £93.4013 GBP

1 USD = 0.622675 GBP 1 GBP = 1.60597 USD

With the fear of sounding like a total dumbass, if we are ripped off as usual can we order from a us site and have it shipped over here or are we charged taxed & other $hite like that?

You will have to pay tax at customs m8 also, a lot of US prices are also dependant on mail in cashback offers also and I'm not sure whether residents of another country are eligable for those either.

I read the LiteOn press release. It did say $150,but that was oem pricing. It also said the first drive was a + drive, with the following drive to be a dual format drive. It also mentioned the new 52/36/52 cdrw drive.

Thanks, if it is the OEM and + format only then I definitely won't be getting that drive.
