Use dvd2one to get the episodes/films done fast and of good quality and use either Ulead DVD Movie Factory or Spruce Up to author, very easy.

Indy,

That would be O.K, but I personally feel that DVD2one banging out say an average of 4 hours of movie (2 Films) will look a bit poor. DVD2ONE is finefor say 90/100 mins of film but when you start going higher than that Macroblock start making the resulting movie/s look incredibly poor IMHO.

Course this is fine if you aren't too bothered about quality and say want to watch on a cheap small TV.

This indeed would suit the real casual user who wants an "Idiots Guide" but, my feelings are if somethings worth doing....

There are MANY MANY posts on multi's and CCE etc on here and whilst they look daunting at first, I think for multi movies it's the only way to go.

I'm fairly confident that all the basics are here or here abouts and all people need to do is LOOK. I'm completely self taught, of course it's always O.K to ask q's along the way, but bit of research goes a very long way. As I've said before there is no definitive way of doing multi's, I would imagine no 2 people do it the same. The tools and the info are out there.

Its your opinion mate but I have done The Green Mile with dvd2one and it looked great on my tv and it isnt a small tv, and personally I only do multis when they are tv episodes, I dont think multi dvds with films on them are worth it, I want quality and even The Two Towers on 1 dvd isnt great quality.

I dont want to go too OT, and I do respect everyone has the right of opinion. I have tried DVD2One and IMHO it's the worst method albeit the quickest method out. Moving away from multi's here and just talking about straight downsampling I'd have to rate the followng methods in order of quality as follows :-

1) CCE without a doubt the top dog, winning not by a sniff but by a mile.
2) TMPGenc Slower than the above and not on Par Q wise but pretty good.
3) Pinacle Instant Copy 7 Has a few bug that need ironing but on the whole pretty good at what it does.
4) DVD95Copy I have only tested 1.1 and was reasonably impressed with speed and overall Q. Apparently V 1.2XX is even better and might be preferable to IC7, will reserve judgement untl I test it.
5) DVD2One Despite allocating the entire space of the DVD-R to movie only it's still blocky on longer films, very fast however.

There are others but these are the results of all that I have tried. I'm rating on QUALITY alone not speed or ease of use or anything other than QUALITY.

You say that 2 towers on a DVD-R looked bad, well I done a LOTR 1 using DVD2One and in some places it looked like a Rubik cube on screen it was that blocky. Besides the 2 towers rip could probably have been done a lot better in the right hands.

As I say we've moved away from the Multi Movie topic a bit here, and I'm sorry to be a nit picker. i respect that you may do films 1 way and I will do it another. Thats why above I said there is no definitive guide. There are quick ways/long ways/High quality ways/Low quality ways/Easy / Difficult, many methods to achieve the same goal.

Anybody that says they have the answer is probably misguided.
