Maneesh Mar 10, 2003, 05:41 PM I'm going install the x-ecuter 2 lite, with the 10 wires, 9 being the hardest i heard, anyways, once i installed the chip i want to install a new 120GB hard drive, i can get my save game data by using a memory card(don't care about the music), but need to know which specific tools i should use to set up the harddrive. Do i need to connect it up to my pc first and run a tool, or can i just slunk it in there. And what is the best tool for copying ames to my new hard drive, i was gonna use boxplorer. And i have the new halo trainer, and would like to add it to the halo game once i copied it on my hard drive, how would i do this , would i get the default.xbe, patch it on my pc, copy it on a cd-r, then overwrite it on my harddrive using the boxplorer.
Please help, i know it is a lot to chew but once i get started, well... it will be ok.
PS. If you copy a lot of games to the hard drive, how do you run them, is there a default menu, or does the original xbox screen come on.
thnx in advance Manny.p

There isn't a good tutorial for the new xbox box chips, for a new hard drive replacement.

Maneesh Mar 12, 2003, 01:52 PM oh sh*t i installed the mod chip today, and when i pressed the on button, it wouldn't start, after a few attemps, i uninstalled the modchip, but it still won't start, can anyone help?, would it because there may be solder, even though i can see any, spread near the 9th wire, also you can see the fan quickly spins then stops, but no light appears around the on or eject button, please help :(
kickson Mar 12, 2003, 02:10 PM I just installed my x2 lite this past weekend. My first attempt I used the header pin method, but the chip just wouldn't work. I kept tyring to resolder the d0 point, and eventually melted the trace. Then my xbox wouldn't work at all and I ended up having to return my xbox for another one. This time around I used the wire method and everything worked fine. I would make sure the d0 point is still okay and that all cables are connected.

melted the trace? is that the lines leading up to the holes? also i won't be able to replace my xbox, cos i bought it second hand, i think it's hopeless, does anyone know where i can get a chipped xbox, with the same chip and a switch, hopefully in the uk, and is there a place in the uk that may be able to repair the xbox, near the east. Please help, if you know why it won't boot.

Maneesh Mar 14, 2003, 01:25 PM hi it's me once again, i was just wondering how would you get the default.xbe off the halo dvd, because i have got the retail version of the game, and want to use that trainer patch, but need the default.xbe, i would like to get it using my pc, any ideas, because i haven't got my pc and xbox (and don't want to) together. any ideas?
thnx for all the help so fa maneesh
49er Mar 14, 2003, 03:12 PM You can't do it unless you link your PC and XBox.
... unless of course you download the halo iso (or have someone copy it to a dvdr as a file... or have someone copy it to your hard drive). Then you could open it, patch the default.xbe, rebuild the iso and burn it.
Maybe someone would be kind enough to burn a patched version for you.

Maneesh Mar 19, 2003, 02:46 AM hi, i found the new slayer, and now want to add a 120Gb HD, with the best efficientcy, so the fastest one, what type of cables can the xbox take, 133, 100, 66, and i'm guessing the ATA133 cable would be the best to use, if my hd supports it, and do you know any hd that don't lock, meaning you can only have them in modchip mode, not retail mode, please tell, and which make of hd is the best for xbox, IBM, Maxtor? :(
thnx in advance Maneesh
ps. slayer has this hd, i'll use this if i know which make it was:
Upgraded & Locked 120GB WD 7500RPM 8MB HD /w ATA133 Cable
