How convert a widescreen film to 4.3 (which is the full screen I think) I use smartripper or dvd decrypter to rip. I then use DVD2one. but where in the process can i do the above. Other software etc.

You can't do it with DVD2one, you would need to re-encode the video, cropping the sides off. Wouldn't it be easier just to use the zoom function on your player?

I have a pioneer 444. It does not have zoom. I dont think so anyway. as for the cropping I think i will give it a miss. Too much hassle. Thanks

I'm not sure why you would want to convert widescreen to full screen. Remember that any movie that you watch "full screen" actually is not the entire movie. Portions of the sides are cut off as to fit the picture in a normal TV screen and make it seem full. But it is far from being the whole picture. If you watch the widescreen version of any movie.. you will see MORE of the movie than you would if it was full screen. But the drawback of fitting the ENTIRE movie image on a normal TV screen is that you get black spaces on top and bottom. Not a big deal in my eyes.
